FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I get my tickets?
Buy your tickets online here. Or contact Chuck Thorne at CThorne@CreativeCare.org or 218-331-2026.
How are dollars raised?
We’re raising funds through the sale of tickets ($25 of your ticket price is a tax-deductible donation to CCRI), sponsorships, matched funding, the silent auction, raffles, heads or tails game, donation wall, and fund-a-need—a live auction where participants volunteer financial support toward the cause at various levels.
How do the donation wall cards work?
Our donation wall features cards—decorated by our clients—numbered $1 to $200. Simply choose a card with the amount you'd like to give, and bring it to our check-out team. Every card makes a difference, and if all are taken, we’ll raise more than $20,000 to support life-changing programs.
How does the silent auction work?
So much more than shopping for a good deal, a silent auction is a great way to get rewarded for donating to a good cause. While you wouldn’t normally spend $100 for a $50 gift card, doing that at our silent auction means you just invested $100 in CCRI’s mission—and you get a gift card for your generosity.
Online bidding will open Monday, October 6. You don’t have to be present to win. Pick up your items after the fundraiser or at CCRI (2903 15th St. S., Moorhead) starting Monday, October 13. Donations not picked up by October 30 will be considered a donation to our next silent auction, unless you make other arrangements. Learn how online bidding works here.
How does the heads or tails 50/50 game work?
It’s a game of chance and a bit of strategy. Buy as many heads or tails cards as you want for $10 each or six for $50.(Hint: You must play all your cards at once, but they don’t have to face the same direction. The more cards you buy, the longer you stay in the game!) Like the flip of a coin, decide whether you think it’ll land on the poker chip or wagon wheel. Once you choose the wrong side, you’re out.
The winner gets half the pot, so encourage your friends to play!
How do the raffles work?
Buy as many tickets as you want for $10 each or six for $50. Each ticket gets you a chance to win. One raffle is for a designer handbag, the other raffle prize will be announced soon. The raffle drawings are planned for 8:30 P.M. You must be present to win.
How does fund-a-need work?
Our fund-a-need paddle pledge is a fun way to show your support for CCRI and our mission. You choose the level you want to donate, and when the time comes, raise your bidding number up high. If you prefer to make a private donation, you can pledge your support online by scanning the QR code printed in the event program.
Will there be food and beverages?
Yes, we’ll have a wonderful pasta bar catered by Avalon Events Center, with chicken penne alfredo, meat lasagna, cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, garlic bread sticks, and a Caesar salad. There will also be a cash bar available.
What time should I be there?
The doors will open at 5:30 P.M., and the pasta bar will start at 6:30 P.M. We recommend arriving between 5:30 and 6 P.M., so you can play games, buy your heads-or-tails paddles and raffle tickets, and bid in the silent auction. Our program will start at 7:15 P.M. The event should wrap up around 9 P.M.
How do the casino games work?
We’ll have a variety of casino-style games available to play. When you arrive and register, you’ll receive tickets to play whichever games you want. If you win, you’ll receive tickets to drop into various door prize bins. If you don’t want to play, you can drop your game tickets right into the door prize bins to be entered into the door prize drawings, which will be held at the end of the night. If you want to play more games, additional tickets will be available to purchase.
How and when should I pick up my silent auction items?
You can pick up your silent auction items after the auction closes at 8:45 P.M. on Thursday, October 9, or at our Moorhead office (2903 15th St. S., Moorhead) from Monday, October 13 through Friday, October 30. Auction items not picked up by 5 P.M. on Friday, October 30, will be considered a donation to a future CCRI event, unless other arrangements are made.
What is the dress code?
There is no dress code. Come as you are—or dress up as much as you want. Most people will wear anything from business casual to semi-formal.
If I can’t attend, how can I show my support?
If you can’t attend, you can show your support for CCRI and our services through a sponsorship, making a donation to be announced on your behalf during our fund-a-need, donating a silent auction item, or by signing up to match donations.
